Well, let’s put it this way, the last few weeks have been interesting to say the least. Rather than build bridges, the man who will be the next President of the United States of America continues to build walls – between political parties, between countries, between different cultures and belief systems, between, ach, you get the picture, I don’t need to go on.
There’s also an incredible sense of triumphalism in the Republican body politic and the financial elite, (in this case, the same thing,) that I haven’t seen for a long time. However, such people need to keep in mind the saying, ‘remember, this too shall soon pass.’ The saying is thought to have originated with Persian Sufi poets. Whatever, I care not, it still resonates no matter its origin.
In my last post, I wrote, ‘I’ll write again in 2017 but until then, hold on to your humanity and decency. It’s all that we’ll have against some of the forces that are currently riding high in this world of ours.‘
I still feel the same. Between now and when the pendulum swings back to a more decent and caring world, it’s going to be a right bugger.
